Ganakokilam, Yuvakalarathnam, Kumari Vaikom Vijayalakshmi is a renowned name in the world of Carnatic Music . As far as she is concerned. Music is a gift of God. She has enthralled the audience across the country on more than four thousand occasions.

            She was born on auspicious day of “Vijayadashami” in the year 1981 to V M Muraleedharam and Vimala of Usha Nilayam. Udayanapuram PO, Vaikom-686143, Kerala State. Although God has forbidden her gift of sight from birth today she sees the world through Music.

She started exhibiting her talent in music from her tender age of five, inspired by the classical records of Sri. K J Yesudas . in 1987 ,she gave her Guru Dakshina to Sri Yesudas andwith his divine blessings she began delivering concerts to the public. Now Vijayalakshmi is learning music under the guidance of Smt.Mavelikkara Ponnammal ,teacher a genius in Carnatic Music

Above all , Vijayalakshmi plays a special single –string electrified instrument   GAYATHRI VEENA, which is first in world . she playes Carnatic , Hindustani Musics and Divotional and Filin songs of different languages  in this instrument, inshotr she is a versatile artist .In 2002 she had concerts across the Gulf countries ( Doha, Bahrain.Musket ete)  and in 2003 she had delivered concerts in some Europeans countries too(Italy and Switzerland ).
